How do I use FishHere?
Tap the bobber, then take a photo of the pond, lake, or river in front of you (or pick one from your photos). FishHere shows the fish that live nearby, the best bait and lures, and a Bite Score from 0 to 100 that shows how good fishing conditions are right now.
What is the Bite Score?
The Bite Score rates how good the conditions are for fish to bite, from 0 to 100. It looks at the kind of fish that live nearby, the weather, the water temperature, the time of day, and the sun and moon. A high score means it's a great time to go, but it's not a promise. Fishing always takes a little patience and a little luck!
Tap the ⓘ next to the Bite Score to see what each color means and why your spot got its score.
It's asking "What kind of water are you by?"
FishHere names the water automatically when it's on the map. Small or private ponds often aren't, so just tap Pond, Lake, or River.
It says it couldn't get my location
Photos taken in the app use your phone's location. Open the Settings app, tap FishHere, then Location, and choose "While Using the App." Photos picked from your library use the location saved in the photo, if it has one.
It says it couldn't load the weather
FishHere needs an internet connection to check the weather and nearby fish. Try again once you have signal.
Why don't I see a fish I know is there?
FishHere uses public records of fish seen in your area, and small ponds are often missing from them. The four fish shown are the best bets for right now. Others may still be there, especially catfish at night.
How do I add a fish to My Fish?
Tap "I caught it!" under any fish, or open My Fish, tap a fish, and tap "I caught one!" You can add a photo if you like. Each new kind of fish fills in your collection and can earn badges. To remove a catch, open the fish in My Fish, then press and hold the catch.
Will I lose my fish and spots if I get a new phone?
My Fish, My Spots, and catch photos are saved only on your phone, so deleting the app also deletes them. They aren't backed up to our servers, because we don't have any.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photos stay on your phone. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What is FishHere Pro?
FishHere Pro helps you plan fishing trips. It adds Plan a Trip (drop a pin on the map and pick a day and time), "When should I go?" (the three best times this week), My Spots, "Fish are biting!" alerts, the Tackle Box checklist, and sharing trip and catch cards. Snapping the water, My Fish, and How-To stay free.
Pro is $14.99 a year or $1.99 a month in the U.S. (the App Store shows the price in your country). The yearly plan saves about 37%. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Family Sharing is included, so one subscription covers everyone in your Apple family.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then FishHere Pro, and choose the other plan. The change starts when your current month or year ends.
How do I cancel Pro?
Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then FishHere Pro, and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial, month, or year ends to avoid being charged. You keep Pro until the end of the time you've paid for. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple; to ask for a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
I paid for Pro but it's not unlocked
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, then tap Plan a Trip and choose Restore Purchases. If you're part of an Apple family that has Pro, ask the organizer to check that Family Sharing is turned on for purchases.
How far ahead can I plan a trip?
Up to 10 days. That's as far as the weather forecast goes. "When should I go?" looks at the next 7 days.
I'm not getting "Fish are biting!" alerts
In My Spots, make sure the bell next to your spot is orange. Then open the Settings app, tap FishHere, then Notifications, and turn on Allow Notifications. Alerts only come when a spot looks great (a Bite Score of 60 or more), usually the evening before. Your phone checks in the background, so leaving Background App Refresh on for FishHere helps.
