FishHere Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

Short version: FishHere has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your photos, catches, and saved spots stay on your phone. We use locations only to look up the fish and weather where you're fishing, and we don't keep them.

Photos

When you take or pick a photo of the water, FishHere looks at it on your phone to read where it was taken and to guess the kind of water. The photo is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

If you add a photo to a catch in My Fish, FishHere saves a copy in the app's own storage on your phone so you can see it later. You can delete a catch (and its photo) at any time, and deleting the app removes them all.

Location

FishHere uses the location saved in your photo, your phone's current location, or a spot you pick on the map. To show your results, the app sends those map coordinates (and nothing else about you) to these services:

These requests aren't tied to your name or an account. Like any website your phone talks to, these services can see your phone's internet address; FishHere doesn't send them anything else. FishHere doesn't store your location, and doesn't keep a history of where you've fished.

My Spots, My Fish, and alerts

Spots you save, fish you log in My Fish, badges, and any catch photos you add are stored only on your phone. They aren't uploaded to us, and we can't see them. If you delete the app, they're deleted too.

If you turn on "Fish are biting!" alerts, your phone checks the forecast for your saved spots now and then and shows a notification when one looks good. The alerts are created on your phone; we don't run a server that knows where your spots are.

Sharing

FishHere only shares something when you tap Share. Trip cards and catch cards are made on your phone and sent with Apple's share sheet to the people or apps you choose. FishHere doesn't post anything for you and doesn't see who you share with.

FishHere Pro subscriptions

FishHere Pro is bought and managed through Apple, using your Apple Account. We never see your name, email, or payment details.

We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your FishHere purchase history from Apple (for example, which subscription, when it started, and whether it's in a free trial) along with a random ID the app creates. That ID isn't tied to your name or email and isn't used for advertising or tracking. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

What we don't do

Kids

FishHere was built for an 11-year-old and is meant for all ages. It doesn't ask for or collect a name, email, age, or any other personal information from anyone, including children.

FishHere Pro can only be bought through Apple. On a child's device, parents can use Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time to approve or block purchases. Family Sharing lets a parent's subscription cover the whole family.

Permissions

FishHere asks for Camera access so you can photograph the water, Location access for photos without a saved location and to center the map on you, and Notifications only if you turn on alerts. You can turn any of these off at any time in the iPhone Settings app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
